PENGEMBANGAN INFRASTRUKTUR KABEL SERAT OPTIK BAWAH TANAH : SARANA JARINGAN UTILITAS TERPADU KOTA MEDAN

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan landasan ilmiah (scientific evidence) dengan melakukan kajian dalam pengembangan infrastruktur kabel serat optik bawah tanah. Kajian ini dilakukan secara bertahap meliputi : (1) pemetaan jalur jaringan yang sudah ada (existing) (2) kajian lapangan di kedua ruas jalan terutama kesesuaian instalasi pipa HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) dan FO dengan teori, regulasi, kondisi lingkungan, keamanan dan keselamatan serta estetika, (3) pengumpulan data untuk keberadaan jalur FO bawah tanah, (4) melakukan benchmarking dari kedua ruas untuk diterapkan pada 18 ruas jalan prioritas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengembangan infrastruktur kabel serat optik bawah tanah memiliki potensi dampak positif yang signifikan terhadap perkembangan kota Medan yakni : (1) konektivitas dan akses informasi, (2) peningkatan layanan publik, (3) pertumbuhan ekonomi dan investasi, (4) peningkatan kualitas hidup dan keamanan, (5) pembangunan berkelanjutan. Dengan meningkatnya konektivitas dan akses ke layanan informasi, pertumbuhan ekonomi yang kuat, dan peningkatan kualitas hidup, pengembangan ini dapat membantu mendorong perkembangan kota menuju masa depan yang lebih berkelanjutan dan terkoneksi secara global.
